HILL'S KITTEN FOOD
Food 1, 2, 3, 4 for the best start
Here are four simple tips on feeding your kitten in the crucial first year that can make a tremendous difference to its health and well-being throughout its life.
1. When you initially bring your kitten home it's best to carry on feeding it the food it's been used to for the first few days.
2. All kitten foods are not created equal (whatever the advertising may say). Feed a food recommended by someone who understands pet's nutritional requirements - the vet. Introduce the recommended food slowly, use the kitten's usual bowl and mix the new food with the old. Gradually increase the amount so that after about five to seven days you are only feeding the new food.
3. Provide small meals frequently - a kitten's stomach is tiny. Feed about four times a day (fresh food in a clean bowl) until it is six months old.
4. Follow the feeding guide on the food pack, and be careful not to over feed your kitten. Chubby, cuddly babies almost always grow into fat cats.
