BUCKY male; DOB ±Oct 2009; Rescued: April 2010.
Bucky is a large breed black male crossbreed. He was found wandering around in Wynberg as a puppy and brought to TEARS. He has flourished into a lovely, exuberant, eager-to-please dog. He loves people and his dearest wish is to be loved in return. He would do well in an active family with older children and a yard to call his own.

Burton is a medium size Brindle crossbreed dog. He was found outside Longbeach Mall wandering around for hours. Burton is an easy going and independent young boy who loves going for walks and playing ball. He is alert, responsive and very friendly and would love to be part of a caring family who would give him lots of attention. Burton is well behaved and has passed his Canine Good Citizen Test.

CASEY male; DOB ± July, 2007; Rescued: April 2010.
Casey is a medium sized, cream coloured crossbreed. Casey was found wondering in Fish Hoek in a dirty state. He is now an eager to please, bouncy dog that flourishes with training. He is friendly with people of all ages and loves to go for long walks. Casey is best suited to a family with older children (8+) and a female dog to keep him company.

CUBBY-BEAR male; DOB ± Oct 2010; Rescued: Nov 2011.
Cubby-Bear is a small/medium sized male crossbreed, who is approximately one year old. He is an entertaining, fun loving and friendly young boy who loves chasing balls. Cubby-Bear is very energetic and affectionate and would be so happy if he had a caring family to live wit. He thrives on attention and loves to play and go for walks.  Cubby-Bear is very alert and responsive and will prove to be a wonderful companion.

Dale is a medium-sized, rich tan sable crossbreed. She was found hiding, exhausted and dehydrated, under a car in Sunnydale. Dale has since recovered and is a lively, enthusiastic and lovable girl who is outgoing and sociable. She has a sunny disposition and is always eager and willing to please. Dale gets on well with other dogs and older children (6+) and would be a superb addition to a loving family with another dog for her to play and interact with.

DENVER male; DOB: ± Feb, 2009; Rescued: Aug 2009.
Denver is a medium-sized, black crossbreed. He was rescued as a stray puppy; found running along a road in Ocean View Township. Denver is a friendly, athletic and outgoing guy who is eager to please and loves playing ball. He enjoys going for walks, is attentive and walks well on a leash. He has a gentle nature and gets on well with other dogs. Denver would be a wonderful playmate and a lovable companion.

EMMA female; DOB: ± Feb, 2009; Rescued: Sept 2011.
Emma is a medium-sized tan sable crossbreed. She is a sociable and good natured young girl who loves receiving attention and going out for walks. Emma is athletic and playful and always eager to please. She would love to be part of a family who will give her lots of love and affection. If given a chance, Emma will become your best friend and prove to be a devoted companion.

Genie is a medium/large sized tan crossbreed. She is an athletic and cheerful young girl who enjoys receiving plenty of exercise and is responsive and eager to please. She is gentle and well behaved and would make a wonderful family pet as she gets on well with children and other dogs. Genie loves walking on the beach and hiking trails and would be happy if she could be part of a family, where she would get lots of affection and could have some fun.

ISIS female; DOB: March 2011;
Rescued: Nov 2011.
Isis is a female fox terrier cross. She is an energetic and playful young girl who loves to run and have fun. Isis is an inquisitive and good natured girl who is very sociable. It would make her so happy if she could belong to a family who would take her for walks and make her feel special. Isis would love to become a member of your family and will prove to be an affectionate and loyal companion.

LASKA female, DOB: ± Mar 2011; Rescued: May 2011.
Laska is a medium sized white crossbreed. Laska was found wondering around Capricorn square in a poor state. She has since become a beautiful young dog that loves to play and revels in human attention. Laska is quick to learn and eager to obey and would make a lovely household companion. She is well socialized and currently undergoing Obedience Training with a kennel assistant. Laska would make any active family a cheerful and devoted companion.

LYLA, female, DOB: May 2011; Rescued: Sept 2011.
Lyla is a medium  sized dark tan female crossbreed. She was originally uplifted from vagrants and had a broken jaw. Lyla is an adorable young girl that is very quick to please and is desperate to be loved. She enjoys playing ball and is very quick to learn. Lyla would make an active family a devoted and joyful playmate.

MARVIN male; DOB ± Aug 2009; Rescued: Feb 2011.
Marvin is a medium sized tan crossbreed dog. He was uplifted from a home with too many animals and an owner that couldn’t afford to keep him. Marvin is a sweet, responsive boy that craves attention and love. He loves to be tickled and rubbed and will make a devoted companion. His eager to please nature and young age means he will be suited to a home with responsible children and a calm female companion. Marvin would be a grateful and loyal friend in a loving home.

Monica is a large, tan sable Boerbul, Shepherd cross. She was rescued after being abandoned in Retreat. Monica is a courageous, affectionate, intelligent, doting, responsive and biddable dog, who bonds closely and enjoys being the centre of attention. She requires an experienced owner, a fair amount of exercise and a home where she will be an “only child” (no cats, kids or other dogs). Monica would be an unbelievably devoted companion and protective guardian in her forever home.

NATASHA female; DOB ± Oct 2009; Rescued: May 2010.
Natasha is a lovely medium sized crossbreed dog. Natasha was found on Baden Powell drive having been hit by a car. Unfortunately her left eye was removed as a result of the accident but this hasn’t affected her love for life. She is a bouncy, happy girl with an amazing zest for life. Due to her accident, she will need to go to a childless home, but she will be quite happy with a male dog to keep her company. Natasha is a lovely girl and would be a devoted companion in a loving home.

Rescued: 2010.
Pinto is a large, tan sable Shepherd, Boerbul crossbreed. He was originally rescued as a puppy and homed, but sadly returned as his owners could no longer keep him. Pinto is a responsive, confident, playful, courageous and alert boy, who loves a game of “rough and tumble” and adores retrieving balls. He requires an experienced owner and a home where he will be an “only child” (no cats, kids or other dogs). Pinto would be a protective guardian and loyal companion.

Rescued: Aug 2008.
Ranger is a medium-sized, black and white Fox Terrier/Staffie cross-breed. He was an unwanted dog uplifted from Ocean View township. Ranger is an endearing, jovial, fun-loving, alert, friendly and alert chap, who can hold his own in conversation and is keen to please. He loves TLC and being fussed over, not hving had much of it in his life. He exhibits a good sense of humour and would be an amusing buddy and loyal pet.

Rodney is a small black and tan crossbreed male. Rodney was found being dragged through the street by a group of children. Rodney is a happy go lucky little male that loves to go for outings and walks. Rodney has a comical nature and would love to have someone to entertain. He would make the perfect companion to family with a yard to call his own.

RORY, male, DOB: June 2005;
Rescued:
Rory is a medium sized male brindle crossbreed. He is a friendly and good natured boy who loves going for walks and receiving plenty of attention. Rory is very sociable and would love to live with a caring family again. He misses his previous owner who sadly passed away - he really misses the comforts and joy of being in his own home. Rory is good with other dogs, but does not get on well with cats. He longs for someone to take him home and give him lots of TLC.

Rory is a large breed tan female crossbreed. Rory was found in a neglected state as a puppy in Fisantekraal Township. She is now a happy girl that loves nothing more than to lie in the sun. Rory is very gentle and loves to be fussed over. Rory would make a very good companion dog to a quiet, loving family.

RUDOLPH Male; DOB: Aug 2009, Rescued: Dec 2009.
Rudolph is a cream coloured large sized crossbreed. He was found as a stray puppy living on the streets. Rudolph is a friendly, cheerful and good natured boy who is very responsive and eager to please. He is athletic and playful and loves to receive lots of attention. Rudolph gets on well with other dogs and enjoys going for walks. Rudolph would make an active family with older children and ideal and devoted companion.

SABRE male; DOB: ± Jan 2010; Rescued: Aug 2010.
Sabre is a medium-sized, fawn sable German/Belgian Shepherd cross-breed. He was found on a short chain in Masiphumelele and surrendered by the owner. He was terrified and scared of everything, including people and other dogs. With careful handling and gentle training Sabre has since become a playful happy dog. He is well socialized and loves to go for long walks or training sessions. He would love to be adopted by an active family with older children and can be cat trained.

SANETTE female, DOB ± May 2010; Rescued:  ± Aug 2010.
Sanette is a black and tan medium sized crossbreed. She was handed over to TEARS as a puppy as her owners didn’t want her anymore. Sanette has grown into a friendly, bouncy and happy dog that loves life. She is very eager to please and quick to learn. Sanette gets on well with other dogs and would make a young dog a very happy companion.  Sanette would fit in well with an energetic family with older children.

Santini is a large tan crossbreed that was found wandering in Da Gama Park suffering from mange. Once recovered he flourished into a happy friendly dog that gets on well with a female companion. He enjoys being in the company of people and would do well in a home with older children (13+) and no cats. As one of our older dogs, Santini is a prime candidate for our foster program and would be content to spend his last days in a warm, caring home.

SCOOBY Male; DOB: ± Jan 2011; Rescued: March 2011.
Scooby is a large sized tan crossbreed dog. Scooby was originally signed over to us after a family didn’t want him any longer. Scooby is playful, energetic and inquisitive. He is very athletic and would make a good running partner. He is a good natured boy who thrives on attention and would flourish in a home with older children and an active lifestyle.

SHELBY female; DOB ± Feb 2011; Rescued: Aug 2011.
Shelby is large breed dark tan female crossbreed. Shelby was originally brought into TEARS as a stray pup. Shelby is a sweet, calm dog with a gentle spirit. She enjoys training and is quick to learn. Her will to please means that she will be a devoted companion to a loving family.

SILAS male; DOB: ± Dec 2006; Rescued: Sept 2009.
Silas is a medium-sized, cream with black crossbreed. He was rescued after being found astray outside Masiphumelele Informal Settlement. Silas is an easy-going, independent, undemanding and carefree chap, who enjoys the company of other dogs. He loves going for walks, is inquisitive and has a keen sense of adventure.  He is often overlooked, as he is naturally wary of strangers. Courageous if the need arises, Silas would be a gracious companion and vigilant protector to a home without children.

Simone is a large tan crossbreed female. She was originally uplifted from a home in Ocean View in a poor condition. Simone is a sweet, shy girl who loves to be the centre of attention. She is eager to please and desperate for the comforts of home. Simone would do well in an active family with older children and no cats.

SUKI female; DOB: ± April 2007; Rescued: June 2009.
Suki is a medium-sized, brindle Collie, Greyhound crossbreed. She was rescued after being found abandoned in an industrial area in Sunnydale by her previous “owners”. Suki is a confident, outgoing, athletic and affectionate lass, who has a keen sense of adventure. She adores the company of people and, having a sunny disposition, endears herself to all she meets. Suki is amiable with children (aged 8+) and would be happiest if adopted as an only pet or by a family with a self-confident male dog she can interact with.

TARQUIN male; DOB ± 2010; Rescued ± March 2011.
Tarquin is a medium sized red crossbreed. Tarquin was found hiding off Baden Powell Drive, terrified of both people and cars. After a long rescue he was brought in to TEARS a scared, tired, bundle of bones. He has since become a comedic and friendly little chap that loves to be cuddled and played with. He is a bouncy boy that would do well with a quiet female companion in a family with older children and lots of spare love.

TESSA female; DOB ± 2008; Rescued: April 2011.
Tessa is a large size sable crossbreed dog. She was uplifted from owners that didn’t want her due to a divorce. She is a friendly, people orientated sweet girl that enjoys playing ball and going for walks. Tessa responds to having a calm male companion and would flourish in a home with responsible children and a garden.

TUNDRA female; DOB ± 2009; Rescued: July 2011.
Tundra is a large cream crossbreed. She was originally dumped by her owners and a witness brought her to our attention. She is a cheerful, intelligent good natured girl who loves playing with a ball or going for walks. Tundra is very athletic and playful and loves to be around people. She is a good jumper, therefore she will need to live in a house surrounded by high walls. Tundra will do well in an active family with a calm male dog.

VINCENT male; DOB: ± 2000; Rescued: Dec 2006.
Vincent is a large, black with white Pointer, Shepherd crossbreed. He was rescued after being dumped in Muizenberg, by his previous "owners". Vincent is a playful, affectionate, athletic and alert dog, who is keen to please and enjoys going for walks. He is suspicious of strangers and would love to be adopted by a family with a female dog to keep him company. Vincent would be a loyal and protective friend.

WEBSTER male; DOB: ± May 2006; Rescued: Nov 2009.
Webster is a medium-sized, white Husky cross. He was found wandering along the Main Road, near Imhoff’s Gift. Webster is an athletic, fun-loving, jovial & enthusiastic boy, who is eager to please, adores playing in water and being brushed. He is a quick learner and has a sharp intellect; a dog of big ideas who’s never short of ways to achieve them! Webster is definitely a jogger’s best friend – he loves to go for runs & requires regular, adequate exercise to keep him stimulated & out of mischief!

Murdoch is a medium-sized, tan with black Shepherd crossbreed. He was rescued after being found abandoned on Baden Powell Drive. Murdoch is a cheerful, courageous and spirited chap, who loves nothing more than being out and about and going for walks. He is one of our “Special Needs Dogs” as he has obviously been badly abused (he is wary of being touched along his body) and is currently undergoing desensitisation training and TTouch therapy.
Given the chance in an experienced home with the training and reassurance he needs, Murdoch would be a delightful addition to an understanding family without young children. (A consultation with an Animal Behaviourist and free Training Sessions are included with Murdoch’s adoption).
