| Since our inception in 1999,
it has been our dream to own our own property. As a forward thinking
organisation, we are always striving to improve the way we serve our
communities. Having expanded at a phenomenal rate, we have outgrown
our current rented facilities, and realised the urgency of owning
our own property to secure our future.
In August 2006, we heard about a beautiful property on Kommetjie Road, Sunnydale, called “Wenga Farm”, which was on the market for R4,5 million. It is the prefect location and certainly big enough (3,1 hectares in extent). We put in an offer, which was accepted. After intensive negotiations, we were able to secure a loan of R3 million, and transfer went through in January 2007. The road ahead is a long one. We face the daunting, but challenging and exciting task of raising sufficient funds to meet our monthly loan repayments and plan and build our new shelter.
